I will be most likely attending Emory next fall and I give you some of my thoughs. Emory is a competitive school and that has a good reputation, especially in the South. The first two years is very traditional with letter grades and lots of lectures, which I don't mind. But the strongest part of Emory education is the third and fourth year where you can get lots of hands on experience at Grady and other affliated hospitals. I also like that the medical school is part of the undergraduate campus so you have the opportunity to get involved in different acitivities. Emory students do well on their boards so that help when you are applying for residencies. The thing that set Emory apart from other schools is the friendliness and support of the staff and faculty. Ever since I went there for interview, they have tried hard to make me feel welcome and comfortable. My two interviewers even sent personal notes congratuating me on my acceptance! Emory was the biggest surprise school for me.
