OK. I need professional help here. I am a confusing case even to myself. I applied this year but since I took DAT in October, my application was not complete before early November. I have a Bachelor (GPA: 3.29) and Master's degree (GPA: 3.89) in Natural Resources Engineering from another country.

I am also getting a master's in Marine Biology (GPA: 3.77) from USC and attending a college to take predental courses (GPA: 4.0).
(in my AADSAS app. my overall GPA is 3.88 and my science GPA is 3.82 based on my US courses)

My DAT scores are: 21 in all Sciences, 19 in math, 18 in PAT, and 17 in reading (AA: 20).
I have volunteered in UCLA, have many shadowing hours and non-clinical research experience.

I wonder how I can increase my chances for next year. This year I am in UOP's waiting list and haven't heard anything from UCLA and USC. 😕

It looks like your stats aren't too bad, so your application could probably most easily be improved through extracurricular activities. Do some shadowing, or join some clubs.

Your stats are great. Your only problem is that since you took your DAT late, your application wasn't complete until November. That gave thousands of applicants a six-month head start on you.

Apply the first day the application opens next year (if you don't get in this year-you still have a shot at USC because they're still handing out interviews). Volunteer and shadow some more to build up your application. You're solid from an academic stand point.

Thanks a lot!
