What's going on with Western?

I was got multiple acceptances and their great schools but I rather stay in Cali so I wanted and acceptance to Western. I think the interview went well and I was expecting an acceptance but they never showed up in AADSAS school decision section (it was never there idk why) and I didn't get a phone call either. What does this mean? Did anyone get an acceptance without western showing up in AADSAS?😕
 
its wierd becuase today, on here, people were saying that their aadsas changed. Then i called western and said I had never had them on my aadsas in the first place and the lady said that they dont update or do anything via aadsas. I have to wait to receive a phone call.

Yea me too I called and told them some people have it updated and some dont and she didn't get what I was saying, she kept thinking I was talking about schools that use AADSAS update or don't lol... But yea she kept saying that if accepted they might call, might not... Not very helpful 🙁

I'm kinda pist, I can't put multiple deposits

Somebody else posted on another thread that they already called all the people who they accepted for this cycle. Does anyone know if this is true?!! 🙁

I talked to Vanessa today and she said people are being notified of an acceptance via snail mail and they would call if they need to...

Call if they needed too? What does that mean lmao

Ughhh why can't they just send an email at least
 
I was kinda wunderin bout them as well. I hadn't heard anything either. They are on my list.
 
They are not organized, that's for sure!
 
At my interview they told us that they would be sending snail-mail...and then later she said they might be calling...HELLO MAKE UP YOUR MIND.
 
So does AADSAS mean anything then? Do people with AADSAS updates only get mail? Or is everyone still in play?
 
Stay positive guys! I was on the same situation like most of you are right now. Last year, I didn't hear anything from the school on Dec 1st but I got accepted later in January. They probably don't have the final decision on your application yet but they will make it later after 30 days deadline of the first deposit ends. Basically, the offer made status only show up on the AADSAS for the accepted applicant. School will notify the acceptance to applicant by personal phone call from the faculty and you will receive the acceptance letter by mail. So you guys still have a good chance to get accepted. Good lucks!
 
I got an update on my AADSAS from Western University and it said "Offer Made." Also, Dr. Andrews called me to let me know that I had been accepted into their program. However, I had a friend withdraw from that school today because he got into his top choice and his AADSAS was not updated like mine was. Western did tell him he was accepted when he called.
 
I heard that they aren't doing AADSAS or email notifications at all, only snail mail. When I was there for my interview, they said that it would be more likely that we'd hear by mid-December, so don't lose hope!! 😉

lol I highly doubt it. Today is the first round of acceptances and I'm pretty sure the class won't be filled by the acceptances they sent out today. Some people get into multiple schools and may decide to go somewhere else. This is the case for most, if not all dental schools.

Man this is so weird... Some people have an acceptance with an aadsas update, some have an acceptance with out an update, some got calls some don't... Whats going on, why can't western just stick to one method of notifying people
 
I just read somewhere that OP mentioned if we didn't receive a phone call today, we got wait listed? Oh god I hate Western for doing this to us!!!!! Is this a rumor ??

Hello all; I think I have an idea as to what's going on...

I called Briana yesterday and told her that people were receiving AADSAS updates and phone calls, but wasn't sure which method to expect. Her words were "We will not be updating AADSAS; if you did not get a call today, it means you haven't been accepted in this round." She also told me to keep an eye out for snail mail.

In other words: No call = not accepted YET (I don't know how many acceptances were sent yesterday.)

I'm pretty sure we are just relying on snail mail from here on out, folks. 😎

well I just talked to her and she told me something else:laugh: She told me they haven't finished making phone calls, so no phone call doesn't necessarily mean you haven't been accepted !! so what now??? I don't know what to think anymore!
 
I just called and spoke with Vanessa. She said if you did not receive a phone call yesterday, it doesn't mean that your app has been rejected, but there's a possibility the final decision on your application hasn't been made.

Also, they have NOT sent out rejection or alternate letters. Acceptance letters have been mailed for those that received calls yesterday.
 
I guess if we didn't receive a phone call yesterday, then we will either get rejection or need to wait until Jan.
 
Anyone else besides the Dec. 1'ers receive an interview lately?

Same, but honestly I'm not unhappy about it, I heard a few post-interview impressions and they didn't exactly paint a very desirable picture. 😎

Although, I'm mildly curious as to why I was rejected, but based on the e-mail it sounds like they really don't want us to call and ask.
 
Yeaah! I wanted to call and ask why since I felt I was a competitive applicant and from cali! But dont thik they want us to call them.
 
I haven't heard anything from them yet...it'd be nice

You could still try contacting them, I mean the worst that'll happen is they'll tell you some generic crap just like the rejection email.
 
same. got pre-interview rejection today. oh well. is anyone thinking of applying to their masters program?

Yes. A couple of days ago. I know they told different interview groups different things and there are varied answers when people have been calling. But for my group they told us that they would only be notifying by snail mail. But I had a portal update and phone call. Then the letter and forms a few days later.

I also got a phone call, portal update and mail. The letter even had a personal message from the dean! I know they write those on everybody's letters but it still makes me feel special 🙂
 
I interviewed at Western and haven't heard anything from them. Maybe they didn't like me . I dunno.......it felt like any other interview. Oh well.
 
I'm in the same situation. . interviewed there in Nov. and still haven't heard anything 🙁
 
I called them yesterday. They basically said if you haven't heard back, then they have not made a decision yet. It would have been nice to get an update though.

I have just heard straight up nothing for the past month. I haven't tried to contact them, though.

Dont worry, they will still send out many interview invites in the next month. Also, a good number of my classmates came from post January interviews... so dont lose hope.
 
I already had interview but didn't hear back anything yet. So I am worrying......
 
Anyone know when will be the 2nd round of acceptance notification date for WesternU?
 
i just got an acceptance call from Western today...well they left a message on my phone. So i guess the 2nd round has begun.
