Whats the advantage of submitting early?

I was wondering what the advantage of submitting early is if you don't interview until decmber or later?

Submit early and you have a chance of interviewing early, which is very important with rolling admissions. Plus, lots of things can go wrong once you submit, so early submitters can get these straightened out without putting themselves way behind.

When would you be more selective, if you had 150 open seats or if you had 1 open seat. (extreme case but you can get the point I think. -BR
