Just decide what rotations you want to take. Most hospital websites have a place for medical students to apply for a rotation. Otherwise, doesn't your school have a list of options to choose from??

im not sure......my school hasnt told me anything about it yet. so im kinda lost....but i mean, is there a Rank List for residency programs in a given field. in that way u know which hospitals to go for electives based on ur likeliness to get into that hosptial when u apply for residency there

Gosh, I am totally confused as to what your question is.

What do you mean residency rank list??? What are you looking for?

If you are looking at a particular residency program then your goal is to do a rotation there and do well to get noticed. So when your name comes across the desk of the program director among the sea of applicants for a residency spot you can obtain an interview and see what happens.

You likeliness to be accepted in a residency is based on your board scores and class rank. You are usually given higher priority if you have rotated there as a student, done well, and are responsible and likeable.

In our residency we really looked at students who rotated with us. We made many choices based upon how much we would be able to stand that student for three years. Others never rotated with us but we could easily tell if they would fit into our group during the interview and tour with us when they came.

Are you asking about figuring out places to apply for away electives??

I sat down with mentors in the field and asked them about places to apply for residency that met my goals and that they thought were a good fit for me and achievable with my stats. I picked the ones I was most excited about from that list and applied for aways there. For residency I think its very very hard to figure out which programs to apply to without talking to a lot of people in the field as there is no "US news best rad-onc residencies" or whatever.
