FANTASTIC!! Now lets git back to it:

Have any of you ketamine IM darted an uncooperative 40 yr old developmentally delayed dude commin in for an arm angiogram.

That was my anesthestic plan till the garbage case got yanked from me.

I was gonna have my buddy drop a bunch of spoons on the pt's right then I'd dart him in his glutes as he turned that way.

See him in 5 min to start the IV and wheel him to the x-ray room where my anesthesiology machine waits.
Hey, you hijacked the thread. Where the hell are the moderators? 😉

Referring to these patients or any others as idiots is uncalled for and simply reflects poorly on yourself.

I really don't think he was referring to the DD pts. The "idiots" comment was directed, from my perception, towards the normal adults who refuse to get an IV because they are worried it'll hurt...key part being: otherwise normal adults. Although, I will concede that the antecedent for the proxy6 pronoun was a bit vague until you read it thoroughly.

Damn, if I'd only follow my own advice & read thoroughly...oh well...I am "old" 😱

I understood he meant non DD patients (even before he kindly "broke it down for me"). It's still unprofessional to refer to patients in that manner.

Let's not pretend that all of us, at one time or another, professional or not, have used "affectionate" and/or not so affectionate names or descriptors for our patients. Obese patients are "fluffies", hydrocephalics are "bubbleheads", and of course GOMER's (get out of my emergency room). I reserve some of my admittedly far-less-than-professional terms, and will probably continue to do so, for the rare patient that has spat at me - oh of course, it wasn't their fault because they were high as a kite.

Don't apologize for a long post when it is this quality. 👍

Kimberli Cox is stoically sticking to her "high and mighty" position - I'm "delusional". And it is "fruitless" and "ridiculous" to discuss with me.

Even though I could say something here that she is powerless to edit, I will not. (Even so, in that thread that I refer to, I did have something I thought was especially witty, but didn't eventually post it because a certain mod would have had kittens, and it would have gotten me in trouble.)

(If you are even a bit interested, PM me and I'll tell you.)

Well, now you're just enticing us like the news does. "Just a warning for you folks at home, the following footage may not be suitable for all viewers." *leans forward in chair*
