What's the difference in the practice test you can purchase online on the AAMC website? I am looking at ourchasing the paper ones.

Nothing really, you can get the online tests in PDF form and then print them up. You have to enter your answers in the computer when you're done to get your score. It uses up a lot of pages 🙁

If you mean the differences in numbers, the higher numbers are more current (less old), and more representative of the current tests.

The 3-test is so far off of what I took that it might as well have been a different test.

I took test 1 (I'm not sure if you can buy that one) and I felt like it was pretty representative of the actual test.

I am thinking test 6. And yes, the number is what I meant. Anyone taken test 6 and is so was it representative?

I thought 5 and 6 were pretty representative. Remember also it is now 5R and 6R - which means it has supposedly been 'revised' to ensure it's questions are representative of the current MCATs. I didn't compare 5 with 5R or 6 with 6R, but that's what I've been told.

The difference is that with the online tests you get an analysis that breaks your score down into every possible sub-category. Want to know what your percent correct was on acid-base titrations, genetics, difficult questions, medium and easy questions, etc.? Your not going to get it with the paper edition of the test. I bought the AAMC online tests and it was the best $80 I ever spent. Their diagnosis makes it possible for you to know exactly what you need to study or what you don't need to study. That's worth a little bit of paper don't you think?
As for how accurately they represented the real test; I took three online tests and every time they nailed my PS and BS sections right on, on the real test I scored 2 points higher in VR.
