What's the first thing to do after graudating dental school?

Work for another dentist to gain experince or open up own clinic? If it's the latter one, how would you set up your office, hire a company to wire everything like computer and put up decor for you? 😉

That's a complicated question that is going to depend on your current debt load, the salary you can obtain working for yourself vs. someone else, and how much more you would be willing to go into debt to open a practice. When you get to that point, it probably is something you should ask a financial expert at a bank.

Personally i would never hire a company to build and network computers; its very simple to learn and it will save you thousands if you DIY and you have more control over each and every aspect. You could even offer wifi to waiting patients at no extra cost to you! 😀.

Do not open a practice right after school unless you want to go bankrupt. Go work at a high volume clinic doing lots of endo, pedo, exts that pays well. Go to lots of CE. After 1 year then start thinking about your own practice--either buying someone else's or starting your own.

if you are in Las Vegas the sequence will be a bit different......first you get wasted, while you are wasted get married to a stripper, then get it annulled, then take your state board exam

That's a great quote. I soooo know that feeling. The patients I see everyday think that dentists are only trained to pull teeth...ever heard of a F'in filling? Or a toothbrush for that matter?
