0.65 FTE, enough to qualify for benefits like health/dental/disability and tax advantaged savings/retirement with matching. A structure that allows this requirement to be distributed so that one can take 3 week plus vacation or locums for variety and extra money. A working environment with people you respect and enjoy.
Basically a state academic job Due to Obamacare requirements from employers you will need to do around 0.7 or 0.75 fte to get full benefits

You can drop below that mark but ur benefits be pro rated. Say the health plan subsidized you $1700 a month if 0.75
If you drop down to 0.5 fte. You would only be subsidized $850/month. So it’s a big lost in subsidy from employer

This is not always the case. Worth exploring.

Obamacare sets the minimum standard for what is considered full time and forcing employers to fully subsidize 0.7 or 0.75 or higher

But I guess individual employers can exceed the minimum full healthcare subsidy even if they drop below 0.7 fte

“Employer mandate overviewIt applies to employers with 50* or more full-time employees, and/or full-time equivalents (FTEs). Employees who work 30 or more hours per week are considered full-time.”

Now an employer can give anyone 0.5 fte or higher the full employer subsidy if they want to.
