Why are you posting this in the pre-dental forums?
And to answer your question, the answer was to start studying a few weeks ago, not a day or two in advance. Biology isn't something that you can cram for the night before... unless you want a 'D'.
As far as studying in advance goes, I'd recommend going over class notes, making flash cards, reading over the reading assignments your prof. assigned and doing review questions (practice makes perfect, sure you've heard that one before).
Don't go to your teacher the day before the test with questions because s/he is more than likely going to get annoyed.
I buy and read a lot of supplementary materials, that always helps me (I particularly like The Complete Idiot's Guide series, I think they're very well written).
I have a biology test on Oct. 15th and started skimming over the material a few days ago. My first test I got a 94% on (missed 3 questions), and am disappointed with myself because I know had I reviewed a bit longer I would've easily gotten 100% (the class average was a 65%, wonder when those people started studying 🙄 )
I don't mean to be flaming, I'm just stressing the importance of preparing ahead of time.
By the way, the book I use for my biology course is the Campbell-Reece Biology book 6th edition... I think that one is the standard amongst most basic bio courses.
Good luck on your test 👍
EDIT: whoops, is he talking about a biology course test or a standardized exam?
