I'm thinking about applying to some CA schools but I want to know more about them (ie which ones are interested in primary care vs research, which ones have good orthopedic programs...)
I've looked at websites but they are all pretty vague.
Can anyone give me honest info about the schools?

Hi,
All of the schools in CA are pro-primary care and have good programs. The adminsitrations and powers that be believe that primary care is the future of medicine and that these physicians will provide care for the majority of the people. As for research and specialization UCLA and UCSF are by their very nature excellent. They are famous and wealthy medical centers with some of the worlds best physicians. As for ortho programs I know that UCLA is top 10 and UCSF I am sure has an excellent program. Good luck and apply to a wide range of schools. Consider schools outside of california as well. Good luck. Go to USNEWS rankings. They list hospitals by specialization.

All of the CA schools are great. Apply to the ones you have a possible chance of getting in to.
