Whats up with OHSU?

Hey, I added OHSU to my AMCAS and have heard nothing back, that was in July. Their website is very poorly developed and there is no contact info that I can find. I read somewhere that they will send out secondaries at end of august...but nothing yet. Anyone else know whats up? Was I supposed to send in a supplemental, if so where is it??

OHSU is slow. The MD program has sent out paper secondaries and invites for years, and they are just now transitioning to a fully online system. As a result, this year they are slower than ever, and unfortunately, the MD/PhD program can't do anything with you until the MD program is ready to send you a secondary.

I would suggest giving it until the end of September. If you don't hear anything, then contact the school and ask (it's fine to just contact the MD program, they'll send you to the right place). In general, OHSU interviews late anyway, so you won't be at a disadvantage for waiting.

I'm not as starry-eyed as I was a year ago, but I do genuinely feel that I found a good match in OHSU. If you have any questions, I would be glad to answer them for you. Overall, I think I made the right choice. 🙂

OHSU Secondary either has been or will be sending out shortly to anyone who has already sent them an AMCAS primary as of today apparently. Oh, and its $100 and they arent selective...weak

No particular formatting or spacing is required. Please answer the following question: "How will you evaluate your success as a medical student?"

You may want to consider important aspects of your life experience such as early educational opportunities, socioeconomic status, culture, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, or life/work experiences and how these circumstances have shaped your perspective of medicine and better prepared you to become a physician. (4000 char max)


MD/PhD Addendum:

The School of Medicine requires a statement explaining your desire for admission to the MD/PhD Combined Degree Program that outlines your goals regarding your career development. Include any comments that might be helpful to the Admissions Committee in their evaluation of your application. To this statement add a list of any academic honors, awards, or honor society memberships you have received and any publications of which you are the author or in which you were cited for assistance. Also, include any job or extracurricular experiences you have had which you consider relevant to your career development in biomedical research.
