What's with the Top Score Math Questions?

What's with all the questions where this spit out a small amount on info and then ask Quantity A and B which is greater, smaller, or not enough info?

Is this how the actual DAT math is?

LOL they are really weird ain't they? I might have seen one or two in a similar style but for the most part it isn't like that. The difficulty is fairly similar (I think...). I avged around 25-26 on topscore math I think. If you want help with any of their questions let me know (don't know how good they are in general though lol)
