I am trying to schedule my fourth year and I was wondering what the range of dates is for general surgery interviews. I think the peak is December-January, but are there interviews in November/February? Thanksssss!!!!!!!

Having just done this...

Maybe a few late Oct. if everything is in early. Handful in Nov. Dec and Jan will be slammed, heard rumors of a couple in early Feb.

Hope it helps!

The earliest any place had dates for me was the Friday before thanksgiving (was like Nov 20th). Most had several december dates and one or two January dates. The latest was like Jan 23rd.

The most popular week for me was the 3rd week of Dec, where I had 4 in a 7 day stretch (Sat, Mon, Wed, Fri). I had 4 saturday interviews, 2 friday interviews, a thursday, wednesday, and monday...

There was at least one on like October 31. Case Western or Michigan, I think. And I know that Ohio State had one on February 4th. The bulk are from the 3rd week in November to the 2nd or 3rd week of January.

Take a look at this post, which will give you an idea of when specific places held their interviews. It doesn't really change much from year to year, I don't think.

In my experience, it seemed that many of the Midwest programs interviewed early, and many of the East coast programs interviewed late.
