When did you take the DAT?

I always get asked when to take the DAT. It would be nice for future applicants to see what the common times are to take the DAT.

Winter break. I wanted it done before summer/applying. Ended up being about 4-5 weeks of studying and taking it the first weekend of the spring semester before labs and homework/studying kicked in.

The textbook answer is to take it when you're ready. I'm too methodical for that. I just picked a date and went with it. My scores don't reflect my ability, but I was convinced they would do and crossed the DAT off my to-do list.

December. As someone who took a year off and is working, it gave me thanksgiving and part of winterbreak to study. It also made it so that I could re-take well before the apps started in case I did poorly.

Seeing all the summer test takers I have to wonder if they did it the year before their app cycle or within it.
