Hello, Im applying for the 2019 cycle this summer. I was planning on applying ASAP. I wanted to go to Japan to see my grandmother this Christmas and then go to SE Asia with my friends during their winter break. So i wanted to be gone from around December 20th to february 1st.

Will this seriously impact interviews?

Depends on your stats; if you're a rockstar you could have them done by then and if you're not, well, I would be available.

It depends on the schools you apply to. All of my interviews took place in January this year, so a winter trip wouldn’t have been ideal in my case. I’d recommend reaching out to the schools you plan on applying to and asking when they typically hold interviews.

Most schools would probably allow a Skype interview too because they understand traveling for interviews can get expensive especially if a student has multiple schools to interview at. Don’t limit your applications based on when an interview would be, I’m sure they would be somewhat flexible considering you’re across the world
