hi everyone!

I was just wondering when the program directors finish up the rank lists for applicants. Not just out of pure paranoia, but also because I just got my Step II CK and it was pretty good and I'm not sure what to do with it (not like 270, amazing good, like 241, up from 219 on Step 1). One PD asked me to e-mail it to him when I got it, but no one else mentioned it. I already went onto ERAS and released it, so should I just assume anyone who wants it will go get it? If the PDs are like me, I haven't logged in to ERAS since the interviews stopped coming a few weeks ago, so I was thinking they might not see it. And I know many wouldn't care, because after all, they have met me and that seems a lot more important. But then again some of these programs are kind of academic and seemed to care about scores to some extent. So, advice?

Got my Step II CK scores recently as well. I also had significant improvement and sent a short "heads up" email to the programs I was particularly interested in.

I'm glad I did, because it seems like just because they download something doesn't mean they look at it right away- one PD thanked me for the email, and said he would pull my file and look at it. I figure there is a lot of paper in our applications, and there's nothing to lose by sending a short, polite email.

I think programs have to have their list in sometime around Valentine's day. I would definitely resubmit the scores and either email the PD or the residency director to make sure they download it and see it.

Cograts on the great score. 🙂

I believe our deadline is the same as yours. But I will be having my match party on the 14th. After that it ain't gonna change. 😀

Quinsy and anybody else who does well (or even the same) absolutely send your scores in. Otherwise we might assume you're suppressing an oopsie.

I am in a similar situation. If it shows that a second USMLE has been downloaded on myeras, can I just assume that they have my score, or should I be dropping notes their way?

Never ever assume anything of the like. I won't even give the the saying about what happens when you assume. 😀

Exactly. Lots of places download things automatically. That doesn't mean the PD goes back and looks at this stuff. If you want them to know, drop them a tasteful email.

Why not just email anyway? It certainly can't hurt to bring the PDs attention back to your file. It might remind him of who you are.

Feb 21st is the official date when applicants and programs must file their rank lists per the NRMP website. My guess is most programs and applicants certify lists well before this deadline to avoid the craziness and clogging of the system by procastonators and last minute changers.

I would call programs or at the least email. Truth is though that all they really care about is the interview at this point but if you helped yourself it can only help!

The thing is the spies can help you. Some infiltrated programs on my behalf and made things work for me!
