When do the programs find out who theyve matched?

I'd assume they would know before us? Possibly by tommorrow night (wed )?

I ask this only because I could have sworn, that ppl here have said they've gotten phone calls from their PDs on Thursday morning (ie before the official 1PM thing) congratulating them.

:luck:

There's a thread regarding this very topic over on the general residency issues forum. The consensus seems to be that programs will find out tomorrow afternoon regarding who matched with them. They are supposedly forbidden, however, to contact their matched applicants until after 1 P.M. eastern on Thurs.

I didn't realize that, next week, PD's will be able to see where everyone on their ROLs matched. I predict more awkward phone calls!

Yeah, they get to see where we matched. But, they can't see how we ranked them. Per NRMP's website:

"On Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. eastern time of Match Week, the NRMP posts each program's Confidential Roster of Program's Matched Applicants.

NOTE: This report is confidential and cannot be made public until 1:00 p.m. eastern time on Match Day, the Thursday of Match Week. Programs may not contact their matched applicants before that time. Applicants learn where they matched either at their school's Match Day ceremonies or on the NRMP web site after 1:00 p.m. eastern time Thursday.

On the Monday after Match Week, institutional officials and program directors can view their Match Results by Ranked Applicant in the R3 System. Applicants are listed in the order of the program's rank order list. Displayed next to each applicant's name is the applicant's match status: the program to which the applicant matched, "unmatched," "withdrew" or "no ROL." The report helps program directors evaluate their programs. The policy of confidentiality, however, restricts the NRMP from releasing specific information about the ranking of programs by individual applicants."

interesting

but seems liek some BS to me. I mean it's sorta confidential dont you think? where we matched, etc? I think if a program wants to know they should haveto ask us. i mean 'hypothetically' pds can thus 'talk shi t" about us to their buddy PDs if they know exactly where we've matched.

oh wlel...guess it s not going to change

I think this is acceptable. Its important to know who your competition is, especially if you are losing some of your higher ranked applicants to one or two institutions.

so why not just ask them via a phone call after match?

COrrect me if I'm wrong, but do we get a list of where ppl matched into our top 10 ranked programs on our ROL?

OF course we don't, but we also (theoretically) never have to go through this process again. The PDs have to start all over next year.

We would want the information only for curiosity.
