My understanding is we start July 1st... but apparently we can start earlier than that for orientation depending on where we match?

does anyone know of any website that catalogs when we actually have to be in the hospital? (frieda just tells me "july" or "june, july")

Nope. Varies by hospital, specialty within the hospital, the year, etc. You'll find out after you match. Nothing to do now except not plan any vacations/events after about June 10.

You;ll get an email from your residency.. often timmes your start is a few days up to about a week before July 1.

The good news is they should pay you.. the bad news is they dont always.

As a 4th year med student I made plans for starting July 1st. Then I matched into a program starting mid June. 😳
