from what i recall, most deadlines are august through october during your D4 year (so you want to get your stuff prepared during the summer).
interviews are Sept through November for ortho, and October through January for everything else.

thanks buddy for the reply...

so i understand that you donot have to wait until your graduation, and apply during D4 year...for ex: for 2010 admission apply in 2009 which is during your D4 ...

thanks again..

yeah that's correct. so you'll graduate in May, get a few months off, then start residency that same year. you are applying in fall/winter of 2009 for a residency that would begin in summer/fall of 2010.

thanks again,

Best wishes for your future endeavor :thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

PASS opens up in June (ex 2008) for the program that starts a year later in July (2009). (PASS = Send out your application to all your schools) Look at programs specifically. Each will have a different deadline date, some as early as August-Sept. while others are in Dec. Perio and Ortho tend to be a little earlier than the other residencies (Ortho because they are in the Part one of MATCH, Pedo OMFS GPR's match are later because they are in Part 2 of MATCH) (MATCH = an Acceptance method after applied to programs) look into PASS and MATCH and what specialty you are applying to they all kida have their own timeline. Basically APPLY the Summer Between D3 and D4 years.

Hi,
You should thinking of your future plans early. Ask seniors what they are doing. Ask recent grads and faculty what they have done.

You can start visiting programs early, even in your freshman year. Best time to visit in second have of the junior year.

Applications should be started in the summer before your senior year. Most are due by Nov. of your senior year.

Since there is always a chance of a late opening, some programs, like ours, continuing take applications. This year, one of our residents in the GPR got accepted late (Sept) into a OMS program, so we reviewed applications again.

PASS is ecellent, but some programs will take applications directly.

We choice not to be in the match, because of the violations and that we want to blend our program.... from different universities, and different parts of the class.

If I can be of any help... call.
