I’ve even started to look forward to Sundays because more likely to get an II during the week. Does II peak in August?

Is that probably just due to the fact that more people have submitted applications by then

Actually, based on what some of the experts have posted, I don't think it's because more people are complete by then (although that would, of course, be true!), but rather, because processing is in full swing by then (it's still super early now, school is just barely beginning, staff has been on vacations or offices have not been fully staffed yet, etc.).

Ive gotten one per week since my first interview 4 weeks ago, but two this week. A sign its speeding up?

I haven’t received an interview yet in August...

I neurotically monitored, dated, and gathered data from SDN posts during my first cycle. Couple this with an ancient pre-med advising book I found in my pre-med office (dated..1996 maybe...?) I've found some answers to your question.

AMCAS: Sent and submitted day 1.
AMCAS Verified: Assume by July 1.
Send/complete all secondaries by July 15th
Marked complete at all schools by August 1.

Medical schools receive, sort (divide you into tiers) of applicants.

The creme de la creme get what are known as "wave 1 interviews." These students interview in August + September

Wave 2 interviewing applicants are sent interview dates Oct

Wave 3 encompasses November

Wave 4 encompasses Dec, Jan

Waitlist Wave 5 is Feb, march, maybe April (if the school conducts such late interviews)

The books basis of dividing interviews into "tiers" was to offer applicants/interviewing students insight into how medical schools work. All schools have a higher likelihood of offering an acceptance if you interview early on. Even if they say they do not, they are lieing, and most certainly do this. Why? Well interviewing students at the tail end of August...assume a class size is 100, there are...well...100 seats available for these 10 students interviewing. By October or definitely November 1, the class has been filled. Medical schools tend to offer 1.25-2.5x the number of acceptances than they can accommodate knowing students will reject the offer to pursue education elsewhere. Hope this helped.
