I think this is the point in the cycle when the waiting is the worst. Some interviews have happened, there's still time for some more, but decisions are going out. I, for one, am making myself crazy by obsessively checking my email and the school-specific threads every 10 minutes or so. Does anyone have any tips for talking myself off the "why aren't they getting back to me?!" ledge? Or any good/funny stories about the crazy **** you're thinking and doing while you're waiting to hear back?

We're not supposed to learn it... the alcohol teaches it to us. Have a drink, my friend. It might be a while.

After several months of despondency, I stopped visiting this sub-forum with regularity.

The difference in my mood after ignoring this place for several days was incredible, and I highly recommend you stop visiting this sub-forum for a while. How does checking the school-specific threads help you? Reading about other people's acceptances will only make you feel worse.

If you are truly anxious and worried, then you should prepare for the worst (reapplication), while hoping for the best!

Netflix overload....I also notice that I have an SDN tab open pretty much at all time now...sometimes more than one :wacky:
a little thread hijack...

Have you finished season 2 of House of Cards? I have one episode left. Also, given your avatar, what did you think of the nun sentenced to 3 years in federal prison for anti-nuclear protests... right out of "Orange is the New Black".

I finished it the first weekend...Senioritis hit hard. Thoughts on the Meechum scene? 😵

House of cards, not yet!! I made a dumb promise to a friend to wait and watch it together....regretting that decision right about now.

I think the nun is great! Civil disobedience at its finest - public, open, peaceful (many might say), and 100% accepting of the consequences. Anyone else on SDN a highschool We the People alum? Yay America 😀 Next thing you know, that nun will be sneaking electric toothbrush packages into prison....to help keep the girls clean 😉

After my test tomorrow I plan to finish the whole season by the end of saturday

How long does the med school app cycle last? From June to August. That's a lot quicker than what I expected. No my dear friend, that's from June of last year to August of this year.

That scene was...special. My reaction: :wow: I especially appreciated how that interaction never came up again - so nonchalant about the whole thing. Either way I liked Season 1 considerably more but was still hooked enough to finish Season 2 in 2 days. THAT'S what you do with all this idle time.
