So my step 1 scores aren't spectacular and so I have to improve on the Step 2 scores. But my schedule is kinda tight.

Can anyone tell me when is the absolute latest time you can take STEP 2 and have those improved scores show up as part of your application for consideration by the residency program? If I take my Step 2 in late September, would that be too late? or will the programs still be able to see my scores? Thanks a bunch.

Programs regularly check for updates to an application so it doesn't matter when you get the scores, you just have to go to ERAS & re-release them.
The Q is which programs offer interviews w/o Step 2 ( I would guess, most, since so many people match w/o ever having a step 2) & which programs require step 2 before interviews.
If your step 1 is low enogh to not get an interview at a place where you want to go, then taking it earlier might be the way to go.......although making sure you do well is the # 1 priority no matter when you take it.

Good Luck.

Here is the thing: When you submit ERAS, the score report goes out with it. So if you know your score by the time Sept. 1 comes around, your score will show up on your transcript when you hit submit. (yes, Im aware that you may not necessarily send on Sept. 1, but i would recommend that you do so, or at least within those first few days). So, given that it takes about 3 weeks to receive your score back (depending on how busy NBME is), I would say that if you take it before mid-august, your Step 2 CK will def be on your ERAS transcript. If you get your score back after you submit, itll stay hidden unless you decide to resubmit.

Hope that helps.
