When is the time "not early enough" for AMCAS app?

I want to wait for my spring quarter grades, because I'm expecting my GPA to improve. This means that my application will be sent about a week or two after June 18th, the first date you can send in the application. Furthermore, my transcripts will arrive about a week after that (I think.) I know it's important to turn in the application early, but does anyone have an idea of exactly HOW EARLY we need to turn it in? Ideally June 18th yes, but what about in my situation? Thanks.

I would wait. A week or two shouldn't hurt you much. Now if you were thinking more along the lines of mid to late July, that is a different story. I am personally aiming for June 28th.

I see no reason to wait until you have verified that your transcripts are in - they only want transcripts to back up the grades you input on the online application.

I think a good "rule" would be to get your AMCAS turned in within 4 weeks of the first possible submission date (June 18th this year??). However, I have a feeling that a lot more people will be turning their applications in early this year since they pushed the submission date back (June 1 to June 18th). I'm not sure if that would have an impact or not.

keep in mind that with the influx of apps on/around june 18, AMCAS and the schools will have a hard time keeping up. consequently, a week or two may not make any difference as to when your app is actually reviewed by someone. bottom line: i'd wait--esp. if you think it will strengthen your application.
plus, by waiting you avoid the risk of everyone's favorite possibility: the AMCAS computer breaking down due to overload and all of your info being lost...
