When is too soon?

I know not to "freak out" until mid-november (thanks BKN!), but I see that a few of my top places have sent out offers over the past weeks and I have heard nothing. I worry that they will fill up interviews before they ever (if ever) get to my application. So when is it ok to contact programs and say "I'm really interested in you!" Or do I wait?
FYI-these are not considered "top" programs per se, but actually some of the smaller programs that may think i'm not willing to move to BFE.

Calm down! Its way to early for that now. If you haven't heard from them in a week or two and others have, you could always give them a call or drop them an email.

If in the next two weeks I don't get to my target of 10 interviews, is it better to call or email? Who should I contact - the program director or the residency coordinator? Thanks.

I would wait a two weeks. My old program did not really send out invites until after november. If you haven't heard anything from them after two weeks and are interested, I would contact the program coordinator. I think phone or e-mail would suffice. If you are not from the area, they may have you on the back burner since there are limited interview spots and they want to invite applicants that have a relatively higher chance of ranking them.

Either will do, but I think a lot of us would appreciate if you go to the coordinator.

It is never too soon to call the coordinator and say something like "hey - I'm trying to finalize my holiday travel and it looks like I will be close to your program around (whatever) time. Is there a chance I can interview with you while I am in the area?"
