  1. Pre-Podiatry
Hey guys,
I've posted here once before and got excellent feedback so trying it out once again!! I am a non traditional student, I'm 27, married and have two kids 🙂 I graduated back in 2007 and then worked at a biotech/pharmaceutical company as a research associate. I decided to go into podiatry therefore I am at a community college finishing up some pre-reqs for podiatry. Right now I'm taking Physics and in summer I i'll take orgo I and in summer II ill take orgo II. I saw that the latest mcat date is September 13 i believe. With me taking orgo over the summer i really wont have time to study for the mcat. I was planning on applying to NYCPM's january term because its decelerated and would be suitable for a non trad like me! But i guess that option is out the door cause i wont even have time to study to take the sept test, is sept the absolute last date for this year??? Do you guys suggest i study and then just apply for the fall of 2014? And i'd love to hear from other non trads as well!!! I cant be the only one! Have you guys heard of people getting through pod school with kids (women i mean) All input would be greatly appreciated 🙂

If I was you I would study and take the MCAT in Jan and apply for next year. What are your stats? Send in your app in August or September that way it can get verified and then just notify the schools that you will be taking the MCAT in Jan that way once your scores come in youll be good to go and you can start interviewing.

Hey thanks for your input! My cGpa is about 3.4 and science GPA is about 3.1 and i guess i'll wait to take MCATS. I have a lot of experience in shadowing in various medical fields. I interned with a cardiologist, volunteered 100+ hours at university of MD shock trauma center, also their pediatric department. Will be shadowing a podiatrist next month as well!
