When should I get a recommendation for dentist?

I am currently working at a dental office but I am not really sure when I should get the recommendation from the dentist.
I am applying to dental schools for 2011 so, I will be sending out applications during 2010 june-august.
Should I get the recommendation from the dentist end of this summer because I am only going to work until I go back school, Or should I get it 2010 June 1, the day the new aadsas application begins.
