Hey Everyone,

I have one concern regarding sending the AMCAS application for 2010-11. I know that most of the applications are being sent on the June 1st itself. But I have one problem, I am gonna take my MCAT on Juy 7th due to lack confidence I have over Verbal and O-chem Section in which I need more practice. Since my MCAT date is pretty far, I know that if I wait till my score to come out my application will be at the bottom pile and I would have least chance of getting interview. But I have one positive work done which is I would be done with my AMCAS application including Transcripts, LOR and PS by June 1st coz I am working daily on gathering all required documents.

So I would appreciate if anyone could help me in giving time frame in which I shld send my application. Or how shld I sent my application to just one college till I am waiting for my MCAT score.I am very confuse with sending application so pls help me out

You can send your AMCAS without the MCAT score i believe, but am not 100% on that. If you can do that though, definitely do it because sometimes the limiting factor on receiving interviews is a late AMCAS application...verification takes longer the longer you wait. If you can get in your AMCAS in on June 1st, then absolutely do it and send your MCAT in when you have it

Since you'll be getting your score back in early August, you want to be sure to submit to AMCAS so the verification is complete by the date the score returns. If you submit 6 weeks before that date, you give yourself a good buffer of time to be sure the verification is done on time (sometimes there are problems that delay the process, like failure to submit all appropriate transcripts, schools "forgetting" to send transcripts, etc). The advantage of submitting early in June, is that it only takes a few days. By early July, it takes ~a month. By September it could take a full 6 weeks.

Submit June 1 if you have it all done. There can be unforeseen glitches that can drag out verification.

Note on the AMCAS that you are taking the July test. Schools will likely hold off reading your app and offering you interviews until your file is "complete" with MCAT score, but many if not most of them will send you secondaries without the score, so you can also get working on those ASAP (in July).
