When should I take DAT for 2010 cycle?

Hey, I am planning to apply for D school and to take DAT somewhere around June or later because I feel like I need time to study after spring term is done. But if June is little late for first cycle review and getting interview for the first cycle (hopefully), I would be able to push myself and take DAT little earlier. I want to manage my time well so that I can have max time for studying the test. So, please let me know when would be the good time to take DAT for getting first cycle review.

shoot for any time in May through early June and you should be fine. it takes a few weeks for schools to get your scores, so it works out while you app is being processed

take it in june that way if you do bad you can take it again in september. or you can study real hard for a while and take it once around late july some time.

Before July- you'll still be considered for all the early interviews. Earlier the better if you're ready.

I personally will take it in August probably because I get off school in June...I'm pretty sure August is considered early as long as you have your apps already sent in

Having DAT scores by June = Best
Having DAT scores by July/August = Fine
Having awesome DAT score (AA 22+) taken anytime before app is considered extremely late = priceless

Same here. I probably will not be finishing up school until late. I plan on taking it late July or early August. I guess I could theoretically take it sooner, but I want to make sure I give myself enough time to study. I hope taking it in August won't kill my chances !!!..It stressin me out lol

i would say study and take the test with the mindset that you won't take it again. it'll save you a lot of time & money.
i took in mid august and got accepted to couple of schools on dec 1st, but some slow schools are now inviting me for interview.
have your app sent ASAP (in may/june) so that all that the school is waiting for is your DAT score. register for a date to take the test and don't change it, study for that day.

I'm taking it July 1, which gives me 2 full months to study (finals end May 1)...working on PAT throughout this spring semester though. I don't like the "take it really early so you can retake if necessary"....because first of all I can't really take it any earlier with my crazy schedule, and plus I would rather take it a little later and feel prepared and confident that I will only need to take it once.
