hi all,

I am planning to apply next year.

(I will be a senior this fall, and I will take a year off)

So, I think I need to take DAT June 2010 and apply in winter 2010?

how many times can you take DAT?

cuz I want to take it this year once as a practice, so i won't panic next year.

thank you-!

You should not take the DAT as a practice:eyebrow:, that's silly, what are you thinking!!! Get some rip-off practice softwares Top and Ach and you'll be pleased.

You can take it 4 times for one lifetime, after the 3rd time you'll need to write a letter to ADEA to request a permission.

I would say that the latest would probably be around april 2010 for you, so then, if you dont do well, you can retake in june and still be very early for the application cycle, but don't necessarily stick to this, the earlier the better, so I say take it when you feel prepared, but before april 2010

Try to do well the first time, because it is a very stressful process, and its hard to keep motivated for that long (I think it would have been hard for me anyways)

good luck

concur

What classes do you still have to take that will prepare you for the DAT, and when will you finish with those? I would say take it within 2-3 months after finishing coursework which is covered by the DAT. Take 2-3 months to study your butt off and score well the first time you take it. There are companies that sell practice tests, don't take a real one to practice.

i took all the classes (biology, gen chem, orgo).
i finished those classes last semester. i should study hard so i wont forget all the stuff i learnedd. thank you so much! =]
