When should I take the DAT...

Ok so I was planning on taking the DAT this summer and apply for the 2008 cycle, but I did a lot of thinking and decided that with my barely 3.0 cum, I was just not a competitive applicant unless I backside attacked the DAT.

I figure I'll really work on getting my GPA up for another year and apply for 2009. I should be (*knock on wood*) graduating in may next year hopefully get into some kind of a 9-12 month Masters program afterward.....but my main question is, if im applying next year, should i take the DAT sometime this fall or wait till next spring? I just dont know what I should do? any words of wisdom?


P.S. - I'm new here at posting but i've been lurking for about a year now....u guys are such a HUGEEEEE help 👍

Take the DAT when you are ready. You have plenty of time if you are not applying until next year so no need to rush it. If you know you will be ready in the fall, then take it, but if you need the extra time wait until spring. The date of when you take the DAT will make no difference to schools. With a low GPA you will want 20+ DAT scores so get some review books and when you feel comfortable, schedule your test. Good luck.
