When you are comfortable with your current draft, have reread it at least 10 times for various metrics, and have had a handful of QUALIFIED individuals look it over and offer criticisms.

Personal statements are difficult to get kudos points for but very easy to screw up. Early on in the selection process AdComs are hunting for a half-decent reason to throw your application in the trash, don't let something as simple as a rushed PS be your demise.

To answer your question, hand in your application when you've completed a satisfactory draft and no sooner.

It took me about two months to get my PS to the point where I'm content with it. So start now, read over it at least twice or thrice per day, show it to everyone smart you know (don't necessarily have to be in the medical field), and aim for submitting on say july 10. sound good?

You need your PS to shine, or at least be decent. Spend a week getting a solid draft out. Then get everyone you can to read it. Look at the reader list here. Ask random people on the street if you must. Take a look at threads on here about the Do's and Don'ts of writing a PS. If you can get your app in by the end of June, great. If not get it in by July. The earlier the better, but absolutely do NOT submit anything but your best work.

so do you get your interviews based on how fast to return your secondary? or how early to turn in your primary?

also i have set a deadline for myself at 6/16...is this still early in the cycle?
or did i screw myself over since i dont have a high mcat score

31: 12, 9, 10
3.83 overall gpa

6/16 is in 3 days. Thats fine but make sure you're ready to submit it.. don't rush yourself on it and screw it up.

Your interview is usually based on your complete file, which includes your primary, your secondary, and your letters of recommendation.

Most schools will only pass your file to reviewers for interview decisions when it is complete.

So I'd say if you submit your AMCAS toward the end of June, assuming you don't need to take the MCAT again and that you can get all your letters ready by mid-July and your secondaries done as soon as you get them, you can be complete at some schools by mid-august.

so once again, how are you officially complete at a school?

once you turn in your secondary/LORs? or primary?

Your question was answered in the post before yours.
