If I’m interested in working as a rehab aide starting beginning of May when would be best time to apply for that?

Maybe 1 month in advance. You can start looking through ads in march. Sometimes they will say that they are looking for someone starting a couple of months later, then you can apply to those ads earlier if their timeframe is close to yours.
