When to ask for application feedback while on waitlist

Was wondering when might be a good time to ask for feedback for prepare for a new cycle, while being on the waitlist. It seems like asking for it while on the waitlist might give off the impression that I'm "giving up" on the current cycle. Is there any time at which it is fair to ask for feedback to improve for the next round?

You have to wait until you are rejected.
