I'm currently an undergrad with 23 credits left until I graduate and 4 classes I would like to retake (two of which are intermediate algebra and college algebra, don't ask). Recalculated my GPA with the AACOMAS excel sheet and I currently sit at a 3.0/3.1, after retakes I will be at 3.5/3.5.
I believe it to be true that all US med schools want your bachelor's before you matriculate, is there any disadvantage at all for one to submit their application without being awarded their degree yet? (all prepreqs will be done) Don't 99% of applicants apply their Junior year anyway? (I'm non-trad, not very familiar with the "traditional timeline")
I will have my application finalized within the first week of June 2014 and I would consider taking classes over the summer/fall while I'm still able to take advantage of financial aid and my scholarships. (I won't have the grants and scholarships if I graduate with my BS).
So would it be a good idea for me to submit my primaries without my bachelors and continue to take some courses throughout the summer/fall semesters, mainly upper level bio courses or would it be more beneficial to state that my bachelors has been awarded already?
