When to submit for ADT rotations

I'm looking at doing my ADT next year and I was wondering when I should start trying to schedule my ADT with the Army, I know I want to try surgery in BAMC in October of next year but I don't know how soon I should put in for it

The earliest that you are allowed to call to schedule is 1 January of the academic year before the rotation: as in, 1 January of your third year to set up a fourth year rotation.

My school will not let me do any rotations off campus until 4th year. Will I get school orders for 3rd year or am I able to do one rotation at the end of a fiscal year and a second at the beginning of the next fiscal year?

Also, I want to try to schedule ODS during my 4th year if possible since we get a good amount of time off. Would that mean I would only get one 4 week rotation through a facility? Would I be better off waiting until after graduation?

Huh, none of the places I was trying to go to would let me schedule until then.

You can do your third and fourth year ADTs during fourth year (and they can even be in the same fiscal year). Yes, if you use an ADT to go to ODS, then you only have one remaining ADT for rotations.

Do you think it would be better to cut my losses and only do one rotation during school or possibly postpone the start of internship? When do internships start anyway? Is it the same as civilian residencies, around July 1?

So, the Navy's fiscal year ends Sept 30th. That means you can do a "third year" ADT rotation during August or September of your fourth year and a "Fourth year" ADT rotation in October of your 4th year. The Navy and HPSP sees these as occurring in different years.

Don't postpone internship. If there is such a thing, all it will do is screw over everyone else in your program that has to cover for you.
