When to take ADAT

I would be completing my Part I Boards in August. Even though I'm not planning on specializing; I wanted to get ADAT out of the way. Is part 1 information enough to take on boards or would extra information be required? One of my course directors told us to get it done as soon as possible.

ADAT has part 2 material as well. I would take it in the spring/summer between d3 and D4 year

I also believe scores are only valid for 2 years. And from what I've seen, endo is the only place it seems to be gaining widespread adoption. Probably because many applicants are applying years out of school and the ADAT could let programs see how much you remember.
