Posted this in the family med section but didn't get a reply. I am an M3 at a US allopathic school, and I really want to do FM. I did terrible on Step 1 - 199/81 - did a lot better on practice exams, just had a bad day. So I really want to show improvement on Step 2 CK and plan to really prepare hard for that. And I want the score to show up on my residency applications. Would taking CK at the end of July and CS at the end of August in order for both to show up be a good plan? Thanks in advance.

As long as you feel prepared & are doing well on the practice exams, there is no reason to delay the exam. If you take it in July, it will show up on your application early enough for the PDs to review it multiple times in case they pass you over first.
