When was the earliest that you were contacted for an interview?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I didn't interview until the first of October, but I was accepted by the 15th. Unless you are doing EDP, it is unlikely you will interview in August. September is more plausible.

yea. i would say sepetember is more possible. october for the cali schools.

I was called for an interview to SUNY Upstate on August 25th, but my interview wasn't until the 16th of September or so.

My other interviews were September 19th, 22nd, and October 3rd and I had all four acceptances by October 22nd, 2 on the 15th. It was really nice.

University of Louisville contacted me early August for an interview.

Interview invitation on late August, first interview on early September.

Can we expect to be called for interviews in August? Or is that simply too early?

My goal: ONE ACCEPTANCE ON OCTOBER 15. Anyone else with this?
With all due respect, isn't this goal a little out of your hands after the secondary is complete?

BTW, I think many have this goal. Just remember to not get dissappointed if it does not occur. 👍

texas applicants interview earlier than most

Last year, my buddy had his first interview on Sept 12th (Vanderbilt) and on Oct 1st (Rochester). Everything else was after November.

One of my fondest memories while volunteering in the ER 😉

I received the majority of my interview invites the 2nd and 3rd weeks of September, then had my first acceptance in the first week of October. It's possible to meet your Oct. 15th deadline. Stay hopeful! 🙂

not to belittle anyone's volunteer experience in an ER or otherwise, but c'mon, volunteers aren't wiping ass and changing sheets underneath a (hopefully) immobile patient...you don't know a code brown till you've had to deal with the aftermath...

Late last July one day, the University of Michigan sent me an invitation to complete their secondary online. Later that same evening, before I looked at the secondary, they invited me for an interview. There were a number of other students experienced this with Michigan as well; sure does make you feel wanted! Anyway, that's the only school I experienced this with. Oh, and Michigan does start admitting on Oct15. On a side note, I liked their interview routine; probably the most efficient that I saw.

I guess you have not had the opportunity to volunteer at Alvarado Hospital in San Diego. They basically treat volunteers like EMTs. I ran EKG's, took vital signs, cleaned and prepared wounds for minor surgery, and even had to perform CPR on a patient one time (that was a very sureal experience). So yes, I have had my share of "code brown" situations to deal with. Maybe not the actual wiping part, but the lifting up and holding while the nurse does the wiping part.

I got contacted for a few interviews in late August, but they didn't start rolling in until September/October. Expect to have a few in your hand in August if you're a relatively competitive applicant. The dates probably won't be until early September, though.
