When will the AMCAS send my application?

Hi,

I just took the MCAT, so the scores won't be available until mid Oct. Will AMCAS wait until then to send my app or can it send it now, so universities can send me secondaries while wating for MCAT scores?

But if I do it, will I start receiving secondaries? Sorry to bother you, but you can imagine the stress of the decision... 😱

You will recieve a few secondaries. Many schools that do not screen will send you secondaries when you submit if you've got them on your AMCAS.

Not to me personally, my MCAT score was from last year. I have observed that this happened to many people. I do not relay unreliable information.

I second pinkertinkle and think you should send it. We know this because the secondaries we've recieved have instructions for August MCAT takers. Like he said, some schools will send you secondaries and you can even complete them and send it in. But they won't consider it complete until your scores come out. This will put you at an advantage over other August MCAT takers who don't know this.

btw...it hasn't happened to me either because my scores were from last August.

If you decide to apply, which I recommend, make sure you get your Letters of Recommendation taken care of ASAP. That is generally the slowest part of the process - you can outrun many others that are also waiting for their August MCAT score and not be at any disadvantage at all.

All the previous posters are right. I submitted AMCAS last Thursday and received 3 secondaries this week even though my AMCAS isn't processed yet. AMCAS sends schools your info as soon as you submit. I am also waiting for Aug MCAT scores.
