Hi all,

If you are hispanic, could you please tell me what schools you have gotten into for this year's application cycle? Just wondering if there's any interesting trends... : )

Thanks!

Are you interested in knowing where the hispanic SDNers are getting into? Cause otherwise, hispanics are getting into practically all med schools, take a look at MSAR.

Yes, where the SDNers are getting into.... Hence, my post on SDN. : )

And I realize Hispanics are getting into various med schools, but wondering if there are any trends for THIS year... Just for curiosity’s sake...

Side note: Especially interested in Mexican-Americans from California.

Thanks!

I don't think that Hispanics are applying in great numbers. Less applicants = less admissions.

From my interview trail, there were a few at NJMS and a few at EVMS. Stony Brook, where I go to school, has two in our class of 103.

whatever the quota for the med school is...that's how many are getting in. probably an insensitive post, and all the hispanics in my class are the real deal so no disrespect. haha is there like a trendy med school this year for latinos or something?

Not hispanic, but Tulane's an interesting place this year - the hispanic community has been bumped from not many to about 30% of the city's population and the med school doesn't yet reflect that. Plenty of spanish speakers needed here - I've actually (tried) to translate twice in the absence of any native speakers - poor patients.

Oh - and usually the second most represented state of the incoming class after LA is California.
