Where are my Loyola SSOM classmates?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Hey SSOM 07-
Welcome to Loyola. I'm class of 2006 and I wanted to tell you all to get pumped up (it looks like you have...) cuz Loyola is awesome and a very special place.

Have fun filling out those darn forms and be ready for a draining but fun orientation week!!

Hey Fellow Loyola 2007 classmates,

I just got back from Honduras yesterday and worried about finding housing in the short time I have till matriculation. I am out here in Cali and just was wondering if anyone had any good advice on how to go about finding an apartment in Chicago. Anyone sign a lease without actually visiting the apartment? I would really appreciate any info. I guess I'll start with that list of apts on loyola's web site.

I just moved in this previous Wed.! I lived at my parents' about 25 minutes drive from my new apartment, but since this is my first time in my own apartment the moving stunk- but it's done! Yay!

Now, I don't know about finding apartments from far away but here's a couple of things. Do you want to live with a roommate? If so, look around the Loyola webforum for that. If you want to live on your own, I would be very wary trying to find an apartment without seeing it first. I can say that in one day I visited 12 apartments and the differences between them were huge. The apartment I ended up moving to was found in the pioneer press local paper (which is online), but you also have chicago tribune, loyola's website, and the chicago reader's listings online as well.

Two weeks from tomorrow!!! Oh my goodness, I'm too nervous and excited... I've regressed from a passably intelligent adult to a little kid, I swear. Was stressing last night at the bar to my friends that I didn't know what shoes to wear to orientation the first day (are we doing lots of walking?). I'm just too silly for words. 😉

Is it sad that I've known since May that I'd be going to Loyola for certain, but still don't have a place to live? Fingers crossed... I might have a place lined up in Oak Park, but it won't be ready till September. Who cares, I can commute...

15 days and counting!

Hey Badger...bumping for all.

Nothing new going on with me. Tomorrow is my last day at work (yay!) and I'm slowly getting set at my new apartment. I finally got my medical history form in, after chasing after the occupational health place where I got my hep b titer to send the stupid lab results in. Badger, look for an email from me.

Does anyone know where we are supposed to park during orientation next week?

Hey mmmkoolaid,

I'm pretty sure we get our parking passes first day. So just turn into the drive to go to the medical school (the $3 parking lot) and hopefully you leave with a pass so you don't have to pay.

If you're really worried, pm me.
(b/c i live w/ 2 MS3's at SSOM i've got the scoop on semi-legal parking. So far i've gotten away with it for the last 2 weeks.)
