Whatever happened to type b pharmD? Did he escape from his 400 k debt? Is he retired and living in some paradise? Update us!

Debt doesn't scare me because what the hell can they do ? Garnish 10% of my wages for a while? Whatever.. I'm living my dream job every day.. I love going into work and get a huge kick of of it... AND I'm saving at least $15,000 per year into the investment fund and savings on top of 401k .

Yeah, I miss that guy's antics. I've seen him post from time to time, but no more stories about getting fifteen job offers in Manhattan. Maybe he finally settled down?

Found a pretty stable independent pharmacy where I do compounding 50% of the time. They pay me in a way that avoids a lot of taxes (they process my monthly car payments, insurance payments, etc directly from their business account and then deduct that amount from my pre-tax earnings so I end up in a lower tax bracket).

Picked up a 4th per-diem/on-call/telepharmacy job, this one was the nursing home where I was an intern at.

Early last year, I was offered an overnight staff pharmacist job at a hospital way out east on the island. The issue was that I had just gone on a trip to Denver the week before the interview and smoked marijuana while I was there. So when HR called offering the job, I told them I couldn't do the pre-employment paperwork/physical/drug screen for about 6 weeks (since THC is fat-soluble, it takes a long time for all traces to be excreted) since I was already booked for shifts at all my jobs. They withdrew the offer since I couldn't get the pre-employment stuff done on a schedule that they wanted.

Hell, I wouldn't risk it. They set the tolerances pretty low for those things. I was afraid of failing the drug test when I started my last job because I had spent the week with a friend who smokes cigarettes, and apparently you can get a positive result from just being in a room with second hand smoke for a bit. Hopefully the institutional limit is higher than what the test can detect.
 
Last time I chatted with SHC was like 2012...she deleted her Facebook and went dark after that.

Heh, quite a number of the Minnesotans actually did leave the system that way. Which is funny a decade later that 2/3's of them are looking for jobs and back to their maiden names. It's hard work being a trophy wife. I am actually optimistic that SHC did find her rich prince though, she did have the ability to dig. I do miss prazi (probably went dark the same time he did) and bananaface. I'll probably go back to lurker status again soon as the reason I became active again is now done.

It wasn't a one time session. It was a week of snowboarding and smoking pot. I'm actually considering saving up some cash, getting a partner and opening a dispensary in Massachusetts since it just went recreational legal there. I know a physician who closed his internal medicine practice, moved out to Denver, opened a chain of dispensaries and is a multi-millionaire now.

Why would you do such a shady thing? You know your pharmacist license is worth at least $4 million right? When you are caught, you would have to disclose it when you renew your pharmacist license and the board of pharmacy will then suspend/void your license. Look at this fool who got his licensure voided because he was counterfeiting some clothes

I forget his screen name, but I miss that dude who went to Florida and wound up at Anderson Cancer Center in Texas...we had lots of good banter back in the day. ZPak comes and goes. A true board legend. Spiriva got married finally, thank god. But instead of just not whining about not being able to find a man, she just up and left completely.

I'm really the only constant on here other than BMB since the place got started, I think.

We need a big ass reunion.

Yes, I wonder about him also. He and partner opened a small independent store down the street from a CVS if I recall correctly. Got into compounding and assisted living facility ownership. I was always confused by the huge profits from such a small store in such a short period of time. Hopefully they weren't caught up in the compounding pharmacy crack down in Fla. He seemed smarter than that though.

Don't know what his name is. Probably not. but I was always amazed that I believe in 5 years of independent ownership they paid off business, bought an assisted living facility and then retired(quit working the bench) with a ton of money. Posted once looking for people who had business ideas that needed and investor. I remember a post about his compounding business and hiring a compounding pharmacist. Never new an independent pharmacy that made that much money that quickly. But what do I know.

Yep. Looks that way. Explains all the money in a short period to time that he said he was making. Never ever saw an independent pharmacy make that much money with the size of the store and short period of time in business. Makes you wonder why someone would do this and then boast about all the money they were making. Saw a news article that the owners had an assisted living facility , an ice cream store franchise and several other business. Must be him. 17000 for a month of anti-scar cream? They had to know that it would catch up to them. Crazy. I would feel guilty billing that much for something like that.

The article has it wrong then. If Tricare is involved, that's not a minimum sentence issue, that's at least a Offense 8 (6 for the Base, 2 for screwing with Tricare) without any money involved otherwise, and could be an 11 or 12 if they really screwed up, and a 33 if they conspired on the matter. Guess those millions won't last that long after all. It was a nice dream, I suppose. They'll really need to plea bargain on it.

Yes. he probably is going through hard times. Seemed like a nice guy. Sounded like they were doing okay before the compounding thing unless it was from the start of the their business. Should just leave him alone. I guess if it sounds to good to be true, it probably is.

To be fair, that wasn't the problem. It was that they were paying to obtain those high $ Rx. If you just luck out and end up getting good Rx at your store with a crazy reimbursement, that's all cool.
 
Only people I wonder where they are now are Z, BF7, and cycloketocaine. Doctor M is too busy being sued by Express Scripts to post here.

oh man... cycloketocaine, i remember recognizing her/seeing her at midyear a few years back at the OU booth, but never had the guts to go say hi.

Thought they busted other compounding pharmacies in fla for over billing those compounds even if they were not paying to obtain those rx's. I think those stores found a loop hole in the Tricare reimbursement methods and exploited it. I don't know what was in all those magic compounds but I doubt they were more than a couple bucks each. You have to expect the government would come back for the money.

Ah no, he's under indictment if we're thinking about the same person whose name starts with a C. I can't believe he's the same guy though!

Not really, this is a small world. We do get to know each other at a strong enough level that some of us are more or less doxed (me, dgroulx, Zpak, all4, bananaface) and others are very generic. I remember meeting SHC in person (and yes, she really is that way in real life too) at a conference. I had no idea that Doctor M was that person though as it intersects with my other life. Caverject and I know each other professionally and remet each other on the forums (although I've forgotten where he's posted now). Weirdly enough, I don't know BMB at all whose probably the longest continual presence here.
 
I've met a lot of you doxed folks, you just don't know it. I keep a low profile although someone did make me nervous at ASHP mentioning something I posted word for word. Probably fishing for information.

yup - I was talking to a student when I saw them on SDN - I saw them actually pull up a thread on here and saw a comment of me being a tad smart ass to them - oh - isn't it ironic!

Yeah, I went over it with someone and they filled me in. Not even close to scot free. But, to me, he's a scumbag and is receiving his just desserts.

Apparently the events I referenced (Exotic car rentals & dumping his wife for a duck lipped beach "girl") all happened a year or two ago.
I wonder if Wife Mk. 2 stuck around after the money got flushed.

I don't really know why I worry. I'm pretty much bullet proof at my current job. lol.
I've had lunch with one of the mods on several occasions.
