Where can I find out how each osteopathic school did on both the COMLEX and USMLE. I don't want individule scores, but just how the schools did on average. Evidently, not all schools will be upfront with this info. Is there some other source?
Does any one have even an unoffical idea of where each school rated on the COMLEX and USMLE?????

I especially want to know about PCOM but would welcome info on any of the schools. Please help, I'm trying to make a decision on which school to pick.

Also, are step 2 scores mostly based on experience in the rotations, or just book knowlegge, or both. Can someone get high scores on the step 2 COMLEX and have crappy rotations???
If so, state the school you attended please. Thanks in advance.

F/A-18 (Hornet, I'm assuming), don't let pass rates on board exams be the deciding factor of which school you decide to attend. The effort that YOU put into studying will determine how well you perform on the Comlex and USMLE. At OUCOM, we had a dismal pass rate of 83% on Comlex I because, in my opinion, the curriculum can allow students to become complacent with their studies. However, we had 15% (or 4 students) of those students in the nation that scored in the 99th percentile in our class of 108. Bottom line, it's not where you go to school, it's what you put into it when you're there. The same goes for clinical rotations and Step II.

Rad one yes it is F/A-18 Hornet- 83% pass rate? Come on, I would be damm worried with that pass rate. A great majority of the selection for residency is based on your score. How do you expect to get a good residency with a pass rate of 83%. Also if your class is averaging that rate, the likelihood of doing well on the USMLE is poor. Many Osteopathic students have to take an allopathic residency as there aren't enough oste residency spots, so your really setting yourself up for some questionable placements.

An 83% also means your curriculm is not doing an adequete job of teaching the majority of the class. If you don't believe that , then your alternate is to know that your class is slaking in their studies.

Let me just clarify so we're both on the same page. Of the 100 or so students that took Comlex I in June 2002, 83% passed. I don't know what the average score was of those that passed. I think the low passing rate is due to a combo of the things you mentioned in your above post. I agree that scores are important for residency selection; more so in the allopathic residencies. Those of us that did well on Comlex I also did well on Step I of the USMLE. The residencies you apply to will look at YOU as an individual and will look at YOUR scores on boards. All I'm trying to say is that it is individual effort that determines success in med. school and performance on board exams.
