Hi Everyone,

This might be a stupid question, but plz understand!

I've seen people talking about AAMC practice tests, which I know that I can get from AAMC website for $35 each, Kaplan practice tests (especially 1~6), and BR ones...

Where can I get those 1~6 FL Kaplan (or BR) practice tests? I saw Amazone sells kaplan practice test book with only 2 tests in. Where did you guys get other version of tests???

I do have old version of practice test by Kaplan, PR, etc that are from 2004... Are those too out-dated???

Do you have any other practice tests that you recommend? How many practice tests are enough to do before the MCAT?

I really appreciate your help in advance!!! 🙂

You get those Kaplan FL's with the Kaplan course.

2004 is too old. You can probably use them to practice reading the passages and answering the questions, but don't rely on them too much. You definitely should focus on computer-based practice tests, as that is how test day will be.

Yeah the old Kaplan tests from what I've heard basically use the same passages, but are in the older (longer) format so they should be best used as review passages and not as full length practice exams.

The good news is you can get up to 7 of Berkeley Review's CBT's off of their website.

After you mail in the forms and wait a year or so 😛

AAMC offers Test #3 for free:

https://members.aamc.org/eweb/Dynam..._prd_key=87B3239A-D424-4D3E-B23E-2C7B78175716

Scroll down to "click here to activate your access today", create an account on the next page, and there you have it: a free full-length practice exam.

Other options:

Kaplan's big review book contains a full-length in the back of the book, and access to 3 additional full-length practice tests with the registration key provided in the book. Additionally, I found the book to be very useful as my primary study/review source.

Q: How many practice tests should you do?
A: As many as you can.

I'd say no less than 6, with at least 2 being recent AAMC tests (i.e. Tests #10 and 11).

Thank you guys for answering my questions!

So, there is no way I can buy Kaplan course (online version) without taking their course???

One more, BR tests are same as GS tests that I can get from CBT website?

It seems like it will cost $$$$$ to get all these practice exams...

Yep, you can just get access to all of Kaplan's online materials (all of the practice tests + section tests + Qbank + online lessons) for about $1500.

BR is Berkeley Review. GS is Gold Standard. Two different companies. I don't believe they're the same tests, although I only did Kaplan and AAMC so I'm not sure.

Uh, yeah it's going to cost money. Wait until you start looking at the cost of the AMCAS application plus secondaries. It's going to cost me $800 to send out my primary applications alone. The med school application process is a headache for us and a money-making scheme for prep companies, AAMC, and med schools.
