I recently tried to sign up for chemistry at a community college but they dropped me because I received a C for it at a 4 yr university already. I really want to retake it in order to prove I can do better now but they aren't giving me that option. Anyone know where I can actually retake courses I already passed or just some general advice? I've seen threads before asking about retakes so I am guessing it is possible to retake these courses SOMEWHERE. I am in California.

You should be able to retake the course in Chemistry at the Community College. All I did was not give them my transcript from my University and just took the courses I had to. You're technically taking it for the first time since you've never been to that school. They tried telling me that at first too, but since I had no record there I was technically allowed to take the course. For the courses I did want to take my high school transcript was enough to show that I had the pre-reqs to be able to take those courses. Hopefully it works out for you, if anything just sign up for another community college.

I would just go talk to an advisor at the community college. You were likely auto kicked out and they should be able to allow your enrollment. Simply saying "my graduate school is requiring I show competence in this area by achieving a higher grade" should be enough to explain it to anyone asking....even if they aren't familiar with PT requirements.
