Where is an appropriate place to explain a medical problem that lowered grades on AMCAS?

If there is no room in the personal statement, would the experience and activities section be the second most ideal place for that?

(Of course, I mean a big well-documented medical problem that temporarily lowered grades, and grades improved afterwards. PS - I'm asking for someone else.)

Secondaries. Personal Statement really isn't where you want to talk about that unless the medical problem was a defining experience in said applicant's life.

Almost all secondaries have a quaestoon asking about mitigating circumstances or if there is anything else you want to tell the adcom. That is the appropriate place. Editing PSs, I hate seeing this kind of stuff there unless it directly impacted the person's journey and even then it's overused. Save it for secondaries, where they ask about it directly. Don't waste space elsewhere, you'll end up repeating yourself
