His avatar pic was that Psoria-Derm cream? It seems it has been that picture for a long time.

BTW, does anyone know about this mysterious dermviser? Who is he exactly?

He strikes me as an interesting "creature". Would be interesting to make a case study out of him.
 
He disappeared the moment I had him on ignore. Seriously it was irritating to find EVERY OTHER POST ON THIS BOARD was from him. He had to individually reply to every single post here like it was his private blog. I was half tempted to leave myself since I got tired of seeing his posts but then I found out you can ignore users.

Anyway, good on him for leaving. The guy probably needed time off the site.

Long ago, someone flicked the Ring of Power into Denis Leary's sack. The anger and hilarity that ensued manifested physically in the form of the thing you know as Dermvisor.

It's tax season. He's a dermatologist and I'm sure it must be time consuming gathering up all of those assets and revenue.

And just so it's clear: I'm joking. I miss his input, though not surprising he's not eager to post on here.
 
He did post a lot, and he was argumentative to excess. I put him on my ignore list more than once. I kept taking him back off it because even when I strongly disagreed with him, I found that he still brought something to the conversation. I finally came around to a deep appreciation and respect for him.

I've really missed him, and hope that he does post again. Maybe not AS much as before. Everyone needs a life outside SDN. But, ya know, enough to let us know that he is still around.

But IS he a dermatologist? For talking constantly, he was surprisingly mum about his (or her??) own details

Agree, he should come back and post about 25% as much.

I'm pretty sure he is a derm resident. He knew some of the faculty at my program when I was talking with him about it

He finished his residency already from what I gather. Started in 2010, would have finished about at the time his posting frequency went through the roof, which fits with an attending dermatologist's lifestyle and schedule.

I spoke with him/her through PMs quite a bit. I was initially interested in derm and spoke to him/her about that route. Based on what he/she said, I don't have any doubt that he/she was a derm trainee.

My original post was aimed at the OP who created this thread. Obviously the moderators wanted dermviser to take a break. You are intentionally working against them when you start making your own threads about dermviser to replace the threads that he is no longer making.

You realize that dermvisers temporary post hold is no longer in effect and that he has chosen not to keep posting right? He wasn't banned.

Building a community is not a waste of space. What makes a forum more useful than an encyclopedia is that it is filled with people who are willing to help one another, answer questions, and generally form relationships beyond just sharing information. You can learn AND make friends on a forum.

So, a thread about a prolific contributor to the community who hasn't been around is relevant. Don't like it? Another great aspect of forums is that you are not required to participate in any thread that doesn't interest you. Bug off and let the mods determine whether it is an inappropriate topic.
