Hi,

I know there are tons of these posts.. but i'm struggling to finalize my list of schools. So far i have down..

Columbia
NYU
UPenn,
Maryland
Boston
UMDNJ

I'm poor, I can't afford to apply to 10+ schools. And I feel like I'm aiming too high and not having something to catch my tush if i fall 🙁. So, ideally I really want to stay in the city. I'm a city girl all my life.. I also want to stay in the East coast and be close to my family.

My undergrad science 3.6, overall 3.7. Double major in bio and psych + a math minor. PAT/TS/AA: 22/21/21. Undergrad: NYU, state resid: MD. I'll say i have really good EC, Volunteer, work, and research experiences. Great LOR too. Dental experience will be around 100 by end of June <- my weakest area I think.. all those hrs come in towards the end of my Jr year and now.

Any schools I should also look into and have a realistic chance in getting in? And what do people think of my late dental experience? I'm paranoid 🙁.

You have great stats...look at one of doctoothaches responses and view his chart with avg. gpa and DAT. Seems like you would be a great competitor. Don't worry about the late dental experience...You still have a good amount. In your interviews just tell them that you continue to shadow and anything new in the dental field you pick up between now and the interview.

yeah you have amazing stats, i would say that you have a great chance of getting all the schools you put up there.

my sister has very good stats too and she is also applying to a couple of the schools in your list. good luck.

WHERE'S TUFTS??? Add Tufts immediately. Applying to BU and not Tufts, unbelievable! 😛

Perhaps add Temple as well. That's 8 schools. and I think you'll be fine with that number 👍

One more thing, UMDNJ is in Newark, which isn't much of a city if you are a "city girl", you might as well apply to Buffalo instead lol.

Uh i know UMDNJ is in Newark but it's close enuff to the city for me haha... and i heard great things from a student currently in that school. I used Doc toothache's chart.. that's how i got down my original list 🙂! Thank you so much once again 🙂!!
