Hello SDN,

I will be applying in June to dental schools.
- Ohio resident (Appalachian area), attend a state school in ohio
- white male
- bio major, chem minor
- 4.0 GPA
- 21 AA, 20 TS, 20 PAT
I think I am definitely applying to Ohio State, Louisville, Pitt, and VCU. But, I am still looking for one or two more out of state schools to apply to.
My other options are UMKC, Iowa, Marquette, Temple, Maryland-Baltimore, and Kentcky. Which of these would it be worth my time to apply to? (based on best chance of getting in, quality of education, and cheapest OOS tuition).

Really, I am curious if anyone has any info on Iowa, Marquette, or Baltimore? UMKC, Temple, and Kentucky are really less likely for me to get in to I think

I have a friend who goes to Marquette and the facilities look really nice. My brother goes to JHU for med school and doesn't like the city, but Maryland also has really nice facilities.

Otherwise all I can give you is info on VCU.

Iowa offers a lot of OOS scholarships. I think I saw somewhere that like 20/23 of their OOS students got a 15k/yr scholarship to offset cost vs IS.

I'll be going to Iowa. PM me if you like

Yep! Pitt and Marquette are also pretty good on scholarships. 75% of Pitt students receive a scholarship ranging from 2k/yr-40k/year

Good stuff!
Also, if anyone has any info on Louisville that would be great! Do they ever offer OOS people scholarships?
